Michael Bay has released a statement, in which he did three things; he announced that Megan Fox will be back for Transformers 3 despite her comments about him, he announced that Transformers 3 will be released a year early, and he also misused a post-script much to the annoyance of the sticklers at NY Mag.The most important announcement being that he managed to hold his temper and put box office first, and so not fire Megan Fox. Despite the fact that public annoyance over her rants seems to have been a factor in Jennifer’s Body being a box office bomb, it still makes financial sense to keep her in Transformers 3. She’ll bring the fan boys, who’ll get to making wet spots in the movie theatre like they’ve sprung a leak. No other actress, hired only for her looks, is going to pull that off in quite the same way.
We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012. Today is day one. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco.
